Did you know that the Scottish band Big Country did a cover of "Prairie Rose" because of the line in the song "Lonesome star shine on the big country"?

Haha, now that's a valid (and cute-ly egomaniacal) reason to cover a song. I haven't heard about the band - but covering RM is reason to start.

Stranded Siren,

I didn't write what you posted.

So what it says on Wikipedia and elsewhere:

You did. ;)

A belated welcome to the forum Stranded Siren. :)

Big Country were led by guitarist Stuart Adamson and formed out of his previous band The Skids (both groups are worth checking out). I saw Big Country several times and they were always superb live, great guitar sound, very energetic. The last time I saw them they were supporting Bowie on his Glass Spider tour (and they were worth the ticket money alone.).

Sadly, Stuart developed severe drink problemd and died a year or so ago.

He hanged himself in 2001....and none of the band were actually born in Scotland! :o And all that (crap) bagpipe guitar sound too...good grief.

Back on track here but was "Trash" not about Jerry Hall. Seem to think that was the consensus at the time.

I don't know if Jerry still thinks about Bryan but I bet he never gives her a passing thought. Why would he when he has the lovely Amanda waiting for him at home?

Oh I know that I wrote that and not you - the system seems to be putting "Erland" whereever it suits it.

Thank you - yes I haven't been here actively until now - I just use it to keep a bit updated, that's all :)
