I am a long standing Roxy Music fan, I have been sorting out all of my music memorabilia and have come across a collection of old posters for concerts and promos from the early years:-
Bryan Ferry @ Newcastle City Hall
Roxy Music @ Rainbow Theatre
Roxy Music @ Leeds University
The above are just a selection, all in very good quality considering age etc,
Are they of any value, and where and who may be interested?
Best regards

Kevin, some posters from this era are quite valuable due to their rarity especially if they are 'show specific' rather than a generic one with the entire tour dates on it.
The problem with EBAY now is that a lot of things are easier to come by now and therefore collectors don't seem to pay as much for items and wait until they see it again at a lower price. An example of tat form my collection is that I paid £90 around 1995 for a Japanese Both Ends Burning single because it was the first time I had seen one for sale in 15 years of collecting and I couldn't let it go. I have in that last few years seen the same single several times on EBAY for £10 and no one buys it.

In 1974 at Preston Guildhall I invested the then-considerable sum (for a schoolboy aged 15) of 50p on a blue and red Roxy flag badge. My mate accused me of having more money than sense. He was probably right as I certainly had very little sense at the time, but it was my pride and joy. I lost it after a year or two but was delighted to see it pictured in, I think, the box set booklet or the 2001 programme. I actually saw one on ebay a few years ago and bid about £25 for it at a time we were struggling like mad to meet the mortgage payments, which brought accusations from Mrs Preston74 similar to the ones my pal levelled at me all those years ago. Luckily i was outbid.

Found some interesting bits & pieces while idly browsing ebay.co.uk recently and wondered if they'd excite any interest elsewhere in this group...
I started by searching in Music under first the group name, then BF's; my intention was to see if any of the early CD singles were for sale. However, among the 300 or so items were 80 or so under the sub-heading Memorabilia. I can't recall if these items were available to overseas customers (all the sellers were UK based), but e-mail enquiries of the vendors would presumably clarify that.
I bought a decent quality coffee mug (£7, post free) with Kari-Ann from the debut album cover professionally glazed on to it; other similar items included the group members' glam rock poses from the inside of the FYP album cover and the photo used to promote BF's Don't Stop The Dance single.
I also picked up a keyring (probably stainless steel) bearing the RM two headed eagle crest (£3 plus postage). Other items which caught my eye were drinks mats/coasters bearing the RM album covers and t-shirts bearing the debut album cover photo and the one from Country Life (no photos of the shirts, though, just the designs). Plus, needless to say, loads and loads of photos from the 70s (when we were young...).

Reading this topic reminds me of the things I bought many years ago, mostly bought through the then Fan Club run by Peter Leay, but some at the concerts. There was the poster of the inside of FYP bought at the Rainbow in 1973 I also have a big poster bought around the same time of all the band standing around a snooker table, Rik Kenton was in the picture (I think I still have this somewhere) There was a hideous red or pink scarf in imitation silk bought around the Stranded or Country Life tour. A key ring which when you slid it out of the red palstic had a photo of BF circa Siren tour. A silver saxophone pendant. Many badges. But my pride possession is a the framed autographs of all of Roxy (incl. Rik Kenton) along with photos taken at the Great Western festival in 1972. Think I paid gbp 350 for that through some autograph dealer in London abt 15 years ago.
Oh, the memories

Re : the 50p blue and red Roxy flag badge
I seem to recall popping out of the gig at the interval to the loo in The Capitol, Cardiff about the same era (about 74) and buying the soft backed book about Bryan that cost something like £1.50 (I still have it somewhere). I was so embarrassed at spending all that money that I hid it in my handbag so the friend I went with wouldn't see it.
Mind you, once I got my student grant a few years later I recall buying a fabolous halterneck dress to wear to see Bryan in the Colston Hall, Bristol. Thsoe were the days when you dressed for a gig. We all went back to someone's flat after the gig and sang along to Roxy albums. Then I discovered 2 things (1) the seams had split and I had to take it back and get a refund (just as well really, since the bank took my bank card from me a while later due to my profligate spending), and (2) I saw a porn mag that had a girl on the cover in the same dress. Oh errr!!!

You may be in luck, Billy Porter, as www.ebay.co.uk has two different Country Life posters up for grabs at present (just search the group's name, either under music memorabilia or generally before redefining the search under that sub-heading). Can't tell if they're originals, although the Island logo looks visible in the picture of one of them. Good luck!

Re. message above, I should have searched under Andy's name too before posting... There's a couple of double page black & white posters for Eddie Riff from music papers listed, but nothing glossy and full colour from Island, I'm afraid.
