Here's an interesting quote from The Standard article:

"The paying members of the audience wanted to hear more of Ferry [who sang two songs with the band before sitting down to eat a cutlet] but his wife Amanda was on hand to explain. “It’s an instrumental album,” she said."

Hmmm. That's a sign that BF might have bit of trouble trying to sell an album that he doesn't sing on.

"Paying" members of the audience? For an album launch party? At Annabel's? Surely not!

I thought it was supposed to be an exclusive "members and their guests only" club. Maybe the Evening Standard knows differently or maybe it's just sloppy journalism...

No doubt the music was delightful, the invitees enchanting and the food truly scrumptious - but surely the hidden gem was the selection of bespoke JW blue label cocktails named after some of our favourite tunes. These are a must for the next big beano at Avondale Towers!

John - did you pick up the recipes by any chance.....and can you share with us?

This was definately lazy journalism as it was 'by invitation' only.

Thanks John. It did seem strange to have "paying customers" at such an affair. But the question remains as to whether some members of the audience were a bit piqued at the idea that BF was not singing on TJA.

I stand corrected on this one, I have been reliably informed that Annabelle's has a members club and part of that is that they can purchase tickets to events like this.

Mes Amis,
Great video, great venue and fabulous dancers!
I have a feeling that next year's shows are going to be the best ever.
There is so much to play with when it comes to this era. I've been playing the album all day and it is really something else.
Love it to bits!
Regards,
Windsept.
