http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/176191/9At one point recently Bryan indicated he was also working on a studio album of new material for release next year (?) if he sticks to that. No indication from this article of whether it will just be the orchestra touring, whether it will include new solo material as well. I assume it's the orchestra, but if so I'm not sure why the tour should take place the best part of a year after the album comes out. Then again the 1988-89 tour began a year after the release of the album it was supposedly promoting, " Bete Noire".

"An Evening With Bryan Ferry" I couldn't think of a better way to spend an evening! Quote: The tour will feature both his usual band and also The Bryan Ferry Orchestra Just brilliant!

All a bit confusing. He did the same thing with Olympia, which came out in October 2010,but the tour didn't start until May 2011 and finished in August 2012. And this year, we get The 72-82 Box Set,TJA,and maybe the first album deluxe edition............and no tour

I guess the space between gives him a chance to finish the new album. I don't imagine a tour now would result in significant addtional sales for TJA anyhow.

Oh well. Let's hope the next album coincides with the tour. TJA looks like it's gonna slide on by us.

The clue is in the title, An Evening with Bryan Ferry. Not The Jazz Age Tour or The "New" Album Tour. It seems like a chance to mix the old and the new in venues suited to an orchestra but also a chance to hear the regular band as well. For those have already doubted the success of any tour of TBFO without the Maestro taking part, this seems like a good solution.

Ageing Hipsters, Dilettantes, Flappers, Ne'er-do-wells & Others, What a day, my cyber record store delivered "The Jazz Age" whilst I slept then I awoke to hear our hero's dulcet tones in his interview with BBC's Bill Turnbull were he (Ferry) talked about some of the recording techniques employed on the new album and announced that he will be touring next year. Then, to cap it all, the great True2life posted this link with the dates. The big question will be which venue - The Royal Albert or The Dome? In truth it will depend on the seats albeit The Dome is on Friday and that could lead to a debauched weekend in the town that that has the aura of permanently helping the police with their enquiries. In any event a bet it's going to be an amazing spectacle. Doubtless Mrs.Windswept will expect a new Flappers dress! Regards, Windswept

You best hope that Mrs Windswept is not after the gorgeous Gucci version that Mrs Ferry was wearing at the album launch party. Could turn out to be a very expensive tour for you!

Did you not suggest something along those lines in another thread Ian?
