Not even the Rolling Stones had their tickets on sale A WHOLE YEAR before the shows. Considering that Bryan lost his mojo some time ago and is now Mr Lacking in Personality, I think he has a damn cheek expecting people to buy tickets a whole year in advance of his tour. After all these years of seeing him (since 1972) I refuse to be taken advantage of in this manner and will be boycotting this tour. I dare say he won't miss me, but I won't be missing him either.

I go to a lot of concerts and don't find it that unusual for tickets to be on sale this far in advance.

It seems like a long time to me. A summer tour, OK. But most of the gigs are next November which strikes me as a long time in terms of buying tix. Are there any other artists selling tix now for shows next November. Just wondering...

I don't know if BF gets the cash up front as some folk are assuming? If he does then I agree, bit of a cheek. However, the question (I wonder who keeps the ticket money for a year?) was asked over on Paul's forum and got no replies. I think it will be held by the promoter? BF may get a deposit - I really don't know. The other thing I don't like with ticket sales for most concerts is the fact that you don't get your tickets(usually) until just a week before the gig. Why is that?

I couldn't agree more. The least expensive thing of an entire show is manufacturing the ticket. You own it Once you have paid for it so you are entitled to have it in your possession.

Some people travel to many shows and may be away from their homes more than a week before the show. A week is not a long time to sort out any potential non delivery problems. Some people may even have moved home between buying tickets and their delivery creating a hassle that wouldn't exist if the tickets were sent once they were purchased.

I don't think this problem is created by the performer but probably the ticket agencies.

As John said I would imagine these arrangments are down to the promoters and ticket agencies. With around six different agencies selling tickets for the same show perhaps it is easier to manage by printing & sending nearer to the date of the show. It should be at least a month before though, not in the week before which is a pain. I think this is the first time Bryan has had tickets on sale this far in advance.

If you buy direct from the venue you don't have that problem. I purchased tickets for The Usher Hall gig on Friday and they arrived in the post on Monday morning!
