Elegantly Maturing Hipsters,
Happy New Year to you and yours (even you boa wearers) and best wishes for a healthy wealthy and above all else, stylish 2013!
To business.
In line with Jerry's excellent request, I would suggest the following additions and deletions for AEWBF:
Add/ Leave Out
River Of Salt/ Tokyo Jo
Another Time, Another Place/ You Can Dance
Midnight Hour/ Let's Stick Together
Casanova/ Like A Hurricane
Funny How Time Slips Away/ Make Me Feel Your Love
Running Wild/ Jealous Guy
No doubt we can rely on our hero to mix us the perfect cocktail but if the ingredients on the left were included, Windswept would be a very happy bunny.
As for the musical troubadours, my nirvana would be the full ATGB band but if it is a split set list — with half time wardrobe change - I would think the "Frantic" line-up might be the best bet with Oliver Thompson succeeding the late, great Mick Green (RIP).
I know Helen wants Johnny Marr but maybe he could just make a special appearance at her gig?
Warm Regards,
Windswept

Whatever can you mean? Haha. I can live with that Windswept.

But Johnny Marr has been working with Bryan on the new album so him being included on the tour (or even just Manchester) could be on the cards.

Anyway, Mr Windswept, go put your shades on look all cool and sing along to this...

Can't stop watching this at the moment...ooooh I wonder why?

:D

Cher Helen,
'This Is Tomorrow' definitely goes on my list for AEWBF.
Great video and great shades - I have the sunglasses but couldn't dance to it in my tennis sweater and matching accessory - Mrs.Windswept didn't finish them for Xmas.
She claimed to have ran out of wool!
Regards,
Windswept

Johnny Marr is the king of the special guest appearance.

I was present for Emmy the Great and Tim Wheeler's Xmas show at the Deaf Institute on 19 December, where Johnny came on during the encores.

It wouldn't surprise me if Marr guested, or even played a whole show, with Ferry in Manchester.

I'm also predicting he will guest with Dinosaur Jr. at the Ritz in February.

You might be right about Dinosaur Jr, peanut. Johnny Marr played with them just before Christmas in the US. JM also plays the Ritz in March too. Sold out now I think.

Tickets are still available for the second night.

I'm not fussed about Johnny's solo show, but I will be at Dino Jr.

My set list absence wishes:
My only love
Jealous guy
Avalon
LST
Don't stop the dance
Dance away (not very often played, but that's no excuse to ever include it)

Another couple of ideas for inclusion:
Manifesto
Stronger through the years

I don't mind LST. It's a crowd pleaser and is his biggest solo hit. As it is a solo tour maybe for once leave out Roxy songs altogether!!

Cher Jerry,
Sacre bleu!
Is the suggestion to leave Roxy songs out of AEWBF the result of too much falling down water?
This is a broad church but that one wouldn't get my vote.
What seems to be emerging is a desire from the cognoscenti to "rest" some of the favourites and for my part LST could do with a lie down albeit it's interesting to consider what could replace it — maybe "Midnight Hour"?
One thing I love about Ferry's shows is his capacity to seamlessly blend eclectic set lists and it will be more than interesting to see what the "Taste Tarantula" comes up with. It's eleven months away and I'm excited already!
Regards,
Windswept.

I would love to hear "Shame Shame Shame" again.... that was the dogs wotsits on the Frantic tour. A real surprise that had everyone up on their feet dancing. Loved it. Bring it back. Its gotta happen.

8-)
