I was never a big fan of ATGB - too cloying and contrived for my taste - but I think that the jazz versions with vocals actually work pretty well all things considered.

I wonder if BF and his record company are now wishing that they had opted to release a version of TJA that featured BF vocals. It is certainly easier to promote a BF album when BF is singing on it!

Or a deluxe 2 cd version , one with vocals and one without. That would have shifted more,for sure !

Economics would still dictate the initial issue of the instrumental version, followed (after a discreet pause) by the deluxe version, so that we buy it all over again! :twisted:

(I was worried that middle-age was making me more cynical, but friends have reassured me that I was just as grumpy in my youth!)

this deluxe version thing annoyed me at first. lana del rey's album was rereleased as a deluxe version, with some excellent extra material (yes, i'm one of those people who like her, and just think that those who hate her "don't get it"). and that p*ssed me off, until i remembered that i've got spotify
