Stranded has long been my favorite Roxy album as it appeals so to my heart. But my head says that For Your Pleasure is the "best". The songs that Windswept listed were the ones that grabbed me from the beginning and helpd my interest, but repeated listenings revealed the wealth of the album, especially Sunset and Psalm which are now two of my favorite Roxy songs.

Cher EERO, Listen to your heart! I gave it another spin today and the lyrics are simply amazing. I think "If you're looking for love in a looking glass world it's pretty hard to find" is pure class. It's as fresh today as it was then - pure magic. Regards, Windswept.

Some of the enthusiasm for this album is truly infectious! Stranded has always lived in the critical shadow of its predecessor and has its successor snapping at its heals in the lyrics stakes, but I'm now this is the best Roxy album. It's seemless, no tracks that fall short and lyrically beautiful. Is there truly a more poetic Roxy Music album? I think not.

As we age, the impetuousness of youth recedes and we are able to be more rational. That note from "Captain Obvious" aside, Stranded is certainly my favorite Roxy album, and listening to it, I am easily transported back to a time when the next love and desire were of paramount importance in my life.

I've always loved Stranded. Street Life, MOP, Arizona then SFE. But Serenade is wonderful (underrated too), Psalm somehow mesmeric...and after the live renditions, who cannot like Just Like You and Sunset? Better or worse than FYP? For me, this is an irrelevant question. I couldn't choose between my dogs, so why should I do that with Roxy albums? I could happily listen to RM, FYP, Stranded and Country Life another thousand times

Do these not qualify the same as the first four? Perhaps not. There's a three I don't care for on CL though.

Albeit, don't tell Otis, my red standard poodle that because he thinks he's the best! Regards, Windswept.

My favourite Roxy album since childhood. I never understood why some see it as a letdown after the debut and For Your Pleasure -- until much later, that is, when I realised it to be a casual observers' knee-jerk reaction to the lack of Eno's presence. Fact is, Roxy was always Ferry's band; the songs, the vision, are his. Eno's knob-twiddling, great as it was, was not the heart and soul of Roxy Music. Stranded proves this. Ferry may have replaced Eno, but Roxy did not miss a beat.
