I thought the ATGB Concert concept was a stroke of genius, and I gladly listened to the first three instrumental pieces before Bryan finally entered the stage.... what if, it's similar this time around, and perhaps only 5-6 songs with Bryan. I just hope whatever is being planned that it will be successful. I must admit - as as die hard admirer - that I do have my doubts, and fear he will play to half-full halls and a disappointed visitors. Here's wanting for another stroke of genius.

Before I bought my tickets for the Glasgow show I asked J O'B what format the show will take as I am no fan of jazz and if that was going to be the bulk of the show I was going to pass. J O'B's thoughts were that the BFO would be support act and BF would do a normal full set. Here's hoping.

As I understand it, the U.K. tour is pretty much sold out, with limited tickets available for Glasgow and Edinburgh only. Be brisk, with your purchase.

Certainly one or two nice surprises in the setlist. While I was never the biggest fan of It's My Party (something like a live debut for You Won't See Me or a workout with the backing singers on Piece Of My Heart might have worked well...), it's nice to see something to celebrate the 40th anniversary of These Foolish Things. The presence of the horn section might give BF scope for trying out some more soul covers as the tour progresses, but I won't carp if Move On Up is still there at the Albert Hall. Beginning to wonder if I can wait until the autumn; will be looking into Paris & Uppsala as possibles...

In the April 8 set list there is only one Roxy song that BF sings on (LITD) and it's with the jazz band not the "full band."
The full band seems pretty slimmed down with only one guitar (OT) other than the jazz guitarist. And CO is handling the drums (TGPT RIP)
I think BF is making a statement with his setlist by focusing almost exclusively on his solo material - Roxy be gone!!!
I'm not so interested in hearing It's My Party, but I hope somebody posts a live clip of Another Time Another Place on Youtube. That would be worth hearing; perhaps OTOP got played live a few times in the 70s, but its been in storage a long time....

Oh dear. Apart from Another Time looks poor. Sounds as if jazz is the majority. Hopefully by autumn this will change for us non jazz fans. Sorry for not towing the party line.

Well the unknown quantity in this is going to be if the promised new Ferry album gets released between now and the autumn and is therefore well-represented in the UK set-lists.
Knowing our man's reputation for taking his time in the studio then unless it's an album of cover versions, similar to ATGB, then there must be a possibility of it not being finished in time. My assumption rightly or wrongly was that it would essentially be the follow-up to "Olympia" and therefore be an album of original material. If so, then unless it's jazz-based original material, it would surely bolster the full-band part of the live show and perhaps be more to the taste of those of attending who aren't perhaps the greatest fans of the jazz material.

On the last tour - Olympia, Paul was drafted in as he didn't like the drums when Tara and AN played! However, this is different, and not for me. It all sounds very much the same, or is it me?
