Decadent Partying Hipsters, What a great exchange. I am now even more motivated than ever for our upcoming winter fandangos! Messrs Roxysiren, Avondale & Tracy clearly had a ball and a huge thank you to Geordie's favourite lady for posting her films — they are great and if our fellow native, Ridley Scott, is looking for a camera person, you are the lady for him! I just love this whole BFO set up. I know it's not everybody's tasse de the' but for Ferry and Jazz to fuse this way is just my dream. That said, as all perfectionist Ferryistas, I have my observations. On the sartorial front I am delighted to observe the mid set shirt change but I dream of the off white tux making an appearance and on the man himself, not on some ne'er-do-well in the audience. I just hope our hero gets it back from the cleaners in time for the RAH. Also, am I alone in thinking that the boy's Barnet needs a bit of a reboot? A delicate subject perhaps but one that needs addressing. It has long been his crowning glory but windswept and dishevelled are two different things n'est-ce-pas? Probably even more sensitive, are our hero's 'Denis Healey's'. They definitely need trimming. Mrs.Windswept has long looked after mine and I'm quite sure she'd be prepared to step up to the plate! Last but by no means least, his dance moves look to be slowing down a little. His back kick is no longer what it was but there again neither is mine. All in all, he remains absolutely our greatest musician and I can't wait for the winter tour but please, please re-instate ATAP and Move On Up. Regards, Windswept. Ps. Roxysiren, there is no antidote for A&S. They are busy running up my rig for RAH!

Definitely had fun. Met lots of nice people in the process. Earlier in the day I also caught some of the sound check as I went into the Abbey. Cost £6 but was worth it for a bit of extra Ferry I agree he could do with a bit of a trim, but he's still gorgeous in my opinion. Thought he moved about the stage well and was even a little talkative - he doesn't normally talk too much between songs. Loved it after 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' when he said "That brings back memories" He was more energetic towards the end when he was really feeling the vibe from the audience constantly shouting "more". We did not want to let him go. He loved it Ooh if I could get a photographer position I could get even closer to Mr Ferry. Lol. So glad he still looks great in stark comparison to a certain Mr Jagger! What a contrast! I wasn't sure about the Jazz stuff before Dublin, but it's growing on me. Think Bryan is converting me. Lol. He never fails to amaze me and introduce me to new stuff. It's going to be a great tour! Hopefully I'll get more footage at Hyde Park.

Oh, I also met a Polish photography blokey who has been living in England for 2 years. He had broken English but managed to communicate very well.
After watching Bryan he said to me "Now I know why you travel around all over to see him!" He promised to send me some video footage he took of Bryan.

[quote="Avondale"][quote="RoxySiren"] I enjoyed Steve's turn. He used to be a bit controversial but has mellowed into a very decent dude. That's very true. When he first hit the big-time I remember him saying stupid stuff like "The Beatles were 70% hype," and I also recall the music papers stirring up negative comments about SH by BF, and vice-versa, which - naively I know, given my experiences with journos in later life - I swallowed hook, line and sinker. So, it was a pleasant surprise to turn on my car radio one evening and SH was presenting his own show of personal faves. The first track he played was "Virginia Plain," and when it finished he said "Two minutes and fifty-nine seconds of excellence, a very clever fellow that Bryan Ferry." Top man!

Am I the only one here that (still) loves Sir Mick?! That skinny, superfit gyrating craggy phenomenon is the world's best performer, surely, imnsho? I appreciate that following the ample posting in this forum after the glastonbury festival when the stones played, that many fellow roxyistas dissed him somewhat, and I was in a very small doting minority....but I still love that guy...especially the magical gig he gave me in Hyde Park a few weeks ago. Nothing came close to that for me (& I'm still a roxy/bf/Bowie/eno fan before all else).

I can appreciate the Stone's music, absolutely. Just not so taken with Jagger himself. And he certainly isn't ageing well. Luckily Bryan is

I will never disrespect him or the Stones. They are a significant part of my musical heritage and I play their music quite regularly, particularly Exile on Main Street.
Jagger was a great front man and an icon of his time. He is no longer as good as he was or anything like it but who in their right mind would expect him to be? For his age he is incredible.
He is certainly no pinup though. I am sure that Jerry would never abandon Bryan for Mick nowadays

Mes Amis, I'm sure that Roxysiren is not the only Mickofile out there but musically I have to agree with the great Avondale - everything up to and including 'Exile On Main Street' was great. Since then, with the exception of 'Stripped' their musical creativity has been well retired and their live performances have become charactertures of their former glory. Sartorially I have to concur with Tracy's great taste. With the exception of dear Charlie (who would be great in the BFO if John Sutton ever bowed out) time has not been kind to their look. Whilst our hero has fandangoed on into the early autumn of his career with all the grace and style of a musical Gregory Peck or Cary Grant, Mick and the gang have become quite an unedifying spectacle embodying the look of the late Worzel Gummidge! That said, Roxology is a broad church and "all styles are served here" but I'll take AEWBF over The Rolling Bones any day. Warmest of regards and remember, if you can't be good — be cool! All the best. Windswept
