Dear Helen,

What, no hat then?!

Dear Roxy,

I echo Windswept2's thanks. Well done for the "original" pic.

And if Windswept2 needs that photo for framing, someone in the USA will happily sell it to him:

I'm pretty sure it was used for an early bootleg LP cover too; some studio out-takes titled "Air Treatments", if memory serves.

Your memory serves you well Smudge.

Photographer Barrie Wentzell has some cool shots of Roxy and other bands from the 70's.

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters,
This photographer has a very interesting gallery of 'ROXY' shots - mostly from 1972, '73, '74.
They serve as a salient reminder that they were definitely the most stylish band around and they were so seriously cool in a world that after a great '60s had gone embarrassingly scruffy!
Our hero's penchant for style was evident from the get go. The only other member that gave him a serious run for his money in those early days was Andy Mackay. Unfortunately Andy lost the plot by getting involved with some seriously dodgy glasses and barnet moves whilst Geordie's Favourite Son very wisely ploughed a furrow towards classicism - particularly with his off stage attire. Smart man!
Regards Windswept.

Has our leader upset the BBC? the proms in the park footage is well buried on the BBC website, it hasn't been shown on the red button service on tv and there has been no mention of his performance (that I've heard) on Radio two whereas the festival in a day gig the BBC did last Sunday has tracks played from it and now songs from the Elton John concert are regularly played. The only mention Wogan made of the proms in the park was regarding Barry Humphries last Sunday. It's as though his performance was a figment of our imagination (those of us that didn't go).

It is strange isn't it? Unusually quiet. Maybe something to do do with rights? Or being saved for something later? I wonder....
