Well, they say what's meat for one man may be poison to another, but I'm with Windswept2 on this one. In fact, I'll risk being pelted with rotten fruit by saying that I find the "mid period" BF solo albums (e.g. Boys & Girls, Mamouna & Bete Noire) far less memorable than those which came before & after, so NYC could happily join Chain Reaction on the back burner...

I've just been listening to an audience recording of BF from Newcastle '74 and, although the sound is muddy, it was great to hear live versions of so many of the songs from TFT & ATAP (yes, including the title tracks!).

It reminded me how well A Really Good Time (the only Roxy song in the '74 recording) could work with the 2013 orchestra...

Of the songs which have possibly never been performed live by BF, I'd love to hear River Of Salt, either on the forthcoming tour or at an acoustic evening. Surely room could be found for this little pearl to work it's less than 2 mins of magic?

I therefore suggest we enforce a 'One In, One Out' rule.
Although I don't share the great Smudge's disdain for mid period solo Ferry - in fact I love that epoch - I could live with loosing 'NYC' in favour of 'River Of Salt'. I just love ROS and Smudge is correct, he's never played it and it would just be the coolest thing to hear it live!
That said, I can't believe I left '2HB' off my last wish list but maybe as ROS runs at under two minutes we could have that one in addition and make an exception to 'One In, One Out' on just this occasion?

I will gladly accommodate Windswept's request for Move on Up. Disagree with the dropping of LST. Big crowd pleaser and always a great way to end the show. Re JG and Editions. They are Roxy songs and for once I would like Bryan to use his solo back catalogue. Loved the 77 tour dominated with songs from his first 3 solo albums. Keep the support coming guys.

Hey guys, some great suggestions for the upcoming tour. I too believe that Roxy tracks should be preserved for the Roxy line up. Ian Dixon does a good job of Tara but to me, it belongs to Andy. As for JG, it never seems to have the impact without PM, AM and TGPT. I would love to hear the title track from These Foolish Things, it is after all the Anniversary of the album and it would suit the BFO to a tee. In Your Mind is also a fave. Haven't seen it live since Birmingham Odeon in '77.

Just double checked my memories on the Tours pages. The Frantic tour only had five "done to death" Roxy songs which was pretty good really. The Dylanesque tour was awesome...every BF album represented and only LitD and JG from the Roxy catalogue. That tour should definitely get a DVD release.

Does BF read our words? Anyway, it`s up to him and Colin to make a set list suitable for the Orchestra. "In your mind" is also one of my old favourites, but can it be rearranged/remodelled fo fit in? "NYC", the track I found the weakest on Mamouna, works fantastically. How about a version of "Don`t want to know"?

I wouldn't say he reads directly this page but he is made aware of what is being said among the fans.

I was asked at a dinner in Dubrovnik by Bryan and some of his team for suggestions for the forthcoming dates so he is aware and wants to know the thoughts of the fans regarding what songs to do.

It is not always a case of just picking a good song. It has to work within the band he has at the time so obviously for this tour songs that work well with a brass section will get more consideration that say the Mamouna tour band cwhich didn't even have a sax player.

I am sure the song selection is a cross between the 'expected' hits form the casual fan i.e. Let's Sick Together, love Is The Drug, Jealous Guy etc also some new material if there is an album to promote but Bryan also likes to include songs he has not performed for a long time too and that has been shown in the last few tours including the earlier part of this tour.

I'll leave detailed feedback to those who were at the tour opener in Manchester tonight, but J.O'B posted the setlist on FB earlier and it was the longest (over 30 songs) I can remember.

No returns for ATAP, Chain Reaction, Move On Up and no huge surprises...

The unexpected inclusion was arguably Young And Beautiful (I loved Lana Del Ray's version on the GG soundtrack), but I don't know if it was a vocal or instrumental tonight.

Out of the list went Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Re-Make/Re-Model & (sadly) Hard Rain.

In came The Bogus Man & Just Like You (both by the BFO), Carrickfergus, When She Walks In The Room (always loved that song) & Sign Of The Times.

I'm not keen on Roxy numbers at BF gigs in general (although it's arguably the only place we'll hear them live now...), but the list was filled out with the return of Out Of The Blue, Take A Chance With Me, Song For Europe & Street Life.

Consider the debate re-fuelled!
