Anyone attending this show please note that the band are on stage at 8PM as there is no support act, just a short prelude by the Bryan Ferry Orchestra with 3-4 tunes from the Jazz Age album before Bryan joins them on stage with the rest of the band. Now here goes for a 7 hour drive from Forres to Manchester

Hi John,

I'll be there tonight, but we're having dinner with friends beforehand, so don't know if I'll arrive in Salford in time for a drink. Regardless, it'd be good to say hello. I'll drop you a text; get back to me when you can.

Drive safely!

I'm going tonight and I am bursting with excitement.... cannot wait!!!

Had an email from gigsandtours about road cloasure.....For anyone else travelling to the Lowry later and is unaware of the road cloasure see below.

We're writing to you regarding your order for
AN EVENING WITH BRYAN FERRY
at The Lowry, Salford on 26/10/2013.

The Lowry has been notified of works taking place this weekend that will
require the closure of The Quays road from the junction with Waterfront Quay
and Capital Quay to the junction at Furness Quay. The closure will take place
from 8pm on Friday, 25 October to 6am on Monday, 28 October. During this time,
Metrolink services in the area will also be suspended for routine maintenance.

As such, it is very important that you allow additional time for your journey
to The Lowry. To view a PDF map of the affected area see link below:
https://tickets.thelowry.com/Online/bra ... losure.pdf

Planning to travel by car?

An alternative route to The Lowry by car would be to take the Broadway turning
from Trafford Road and follow it round to The Quays road (passing the Harbour
City Metrolink stop). Accessing The Lowry via the crossing at Huron Basin.

Planning to travel by Metrolink?

A replacement bus service will operate on the Eccles to Deansgate-Castlefield
via MediaCityUK line. Replacement buses do not call at Pomona. Passengers for
Pomona should use replacement bus stops at Exchange Quay. Please buy your
ticket from a Metrolink ticket machine before boarding the replacement bus.

For details of the bus stops on this replacement service, see below
http://www.metrolink.co.uk/ServiceDisru ... eplacement%
20bus%20maps%2026-27%20Oct.pdf

Planning to travel by bus?

Local bus services to Salford Quays will follow authorised diversions put in
place by Transport for Greater Manchester. Please allow extra time for your
journey.

Best regards

Have fun tonight, Helen.

I won't be there. At £67 a pop, once was enough. In truth, last night's performance fell a little flat, for me. The Twenties arrangements are not to my taste; bringing them forward a couple of decades to, say, the Forties swing style may have yielded more satisfying results. That said, it's always a pleasure to see Bryan on stage, and the setlist was fabulous. Great to hear "Sign of the Times" and "Carrickfergus".

Look out for my recording in due course.

Thank you peanut... :)

Aww I know, shame we didn't book the same the night, would've been nice to see you there. Always next time.
The set list is a long one and Shame Shame Shame has made a return, that was brilliant on the Frantic tour, he spoils us Mancunians haha.
Gutted he's dropped Crazy Love, Its my party and Hard Rain. nonetheless its a pretty impressive setlist and I can't wait to see him.

BTW, did you see the These Foolish Things tour T-Shirts on sale? if so do you know if they are ladies or gents? want one madly...

8-)

Speak soon... :)

Yeah, shame.

They released more great seats for tonight's show a couple of weeks ago, and I was sorely tempted. I have a lot on my plate, though, at the moment, and couldn't justify the additional outlay. Last night was enjoyable, but I believe I've made the correct decision.

I had a quick look at the merch stand on the way out. Nothing there I was prepared to part cash for. They did have T-shirts with the silhouette from the rear cover of These Foolish Things. Treat yerself!

The set list is long and extensive and not that many numbers are the BFO without BF.

If his voice can maintain this number of songs over the course of the UK and Russian legs of the tour that will be very impressive. I hope he can!

Tonight's show was much better than Friday night's UK tour opener. A few changes to the order of the set list made for a much better balance to the show as well as ironing out any first night technicalities and the crowd were so much more responsive too.

It was a good show on Saturday, thoroughly enjoyed it, Bryan was in great voice and the jazz band were class. Enrico Tomasso is a superstar, what a little bundle of fun he was, wanted to put him under my arm and take him home with me by the end haha
I was a little disappointed with the exclusion of Crazy Love, Hard Rain, Its my party, move on up, would have preferred them to Jealous Guy, Love Is The Drug and I'm not a big fan of NYC... having said that, the setlist was long and varied and I suppose he has to try and please everyone not just the diehards....as the saying goes... you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Great crowd and great atmosphere down near the front. Loved it.

Grabbed the TFT t-shirt, programme and couldn't resist buying a mug too. Skint before we even bought a drink! ;)
