Sarah Chapman

Sarah Chapman played viola with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra on the album The Jazz Age

is a scholarship graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and a post graduate of the Royal College of Music under Garfield Jackson and Andriy Viytovych. Her training has also included touring with the European Union Youth Orchestra, and performing as a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s ‘Future Firsts’ programme.

She has performed worldwide as a violinist, violist, pianist and backing vocalist in many different genres of music. Recent highlights of her commercial career include Take That’s reunion promotion TVs, a UK arena tour with Tim Minchin, an acoustic tour for Mika’s ‘Songs For Sorrow’ album, playing with Massive Attack at the Royal Festival Hall, the BBC Electric Proms with Dizzee Rascal, string quartet with Adele at the Roundhouse, Heritage Orchestra for Unkle at the Union Chapel, string section for Oasis ‘The Dreams We Have As Children’ CD (Live for Teenage Cancer Trust @ RAH), and a UK and US Sir Elton John tour, including Radio City NY.

She has collaborated with artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Johan Johansson, The Good, the Bad and the Queen, Kasabian, Gorillaz, Paul Weller and Leona Lewis. She has broadcast live on radio and TV as a solo artist, with chamber ensembles and orchestras on the major BBC Radio and TV channels as well as in over 20 countries worldwide. As a classical artist she has performed as a concerto soloist around Europe, with the ‘English Virtuosi’ String Quartet in Japan and with numerous orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in venues around the world.
