I would like to wish all who visit this site a happy and prosperous new year and a special thank you to all of you have contributed to the site. It's that time of year again when we look forward to the new one coming and also reflect on the year just gone. Looking back on the Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music world it has been a busy year. Let's hope 2008 will be equally fruitful and hope that the 9th Roxy Music album is finally complete and released. I Have summarised the main points of the news items on VivaRoxyMusic.com from 2007. JANUARY • Bryan Ferry is in France doing some TV to promote the forthcoming new album. • The single The Times They Are A-Changin’ is broadcast on BBC Radio2 giving us the first taste of the new album. FEBRUARY • Bryan Ferry does a session for BBC at St Luke’s and is broadcast on BBC1 on 23rd. • Bryan is interviewed on BBC Radio2 and he also appears on 26th February performing Make You Feel My Love’ on 'This Morning' on UK TV MARCH • The Dylanesque tour kicks off in Carlisle featuring many songs from the new album, a selection of Ferry/Roxy hits and many rarely or never performed live songs from the Ferry catalogue. The tour takes in the usual cities in UK as well as some European dates. • Dylanesque is released on 5th March and peaks in the UK album charts at number 5. This is the highest a new Bryan Ferry album has been since 'Taxi' in 1993. • The album is promoted with high profile media slots on BBC Radio with Jonathan Ross & Mark Radcliffe, BBC TV The Culture Show and also a documentary on the making of the album on Channel 4. • Bryan is also featured in many magazines in UK and Europe as well as TV and radio on the continent too. APRIL • The tour continues into Europe and then returns to UK for more dates. • Bryan appears on ‘One Shot’ with Manu Katche on French TV • Bryan Ferry appears on The Jonathan Ross show performs Love Is The Drug & All Along The Watchtower. • European TV promotion of Dylanesque finds Bryan the Swedish talk show called "Stina!" MAY • Bryan Ferry performs ‘If Not For You’ & ‘Make You Feel My Love' on Later with Jools Holland. • The tour continues with more European dates. • Roxy Music appeared on the second episode in series 'Seven Ages Of Rock' called 'Between A Rock And An Art Place.' JUNE • Bryan Ferry appeared on French Television "France 2 Tenue de soirée" The Bryan Ferry DVD "Dylanesque - The London Sessions" was released. • The album was released in USA and was promoted with a signing at a New York record store and an appearance on The Letterman Show as well as an article in the American version of GQ magazine. JULY • Bryan Ferry appears at the Diana Tribute show at Wembley. • The footage of Roxy Music on the German live music TV show Musikladen broadcast in the 1970's is at long last to be given a UK release. • Andy Mackay gives VivaRoxyMusic.com an interview discussing the new album he is working on due for release in 2008. AUGUST • Bryan Ferry takes a break from the Dylanesque tour and ends this leg of the tour in Monte Carlo SEPTEMBER • Carlsberg launch a new advertising campaign featuring Bryan Ferry. • The Roxy Music biography Re-make/Re-model by Michael Bracewell is published. • Bryan Ferry performed in Naples in at the Piedigrotta Festival. He took part in a tribute to Elvis Presley with a one off performance of It’s Now Or Never & Surrender. OCTOBER • The Dylanesque tour resumes with shows in Eastern Europe. • Bryan Ferry & Michael Bracewell gave a lecture at the Victoria & Albert on the formation of Roxy Music and Bracewell’s Roxy Biaography Re-make/Re-model. NOVEMBER • Bryan Ferry ends the European leg of the tour and heads to Australia & New Zealand for more shows there. • Phil Manzanera was interviewed for the Spanish magazine Elmundo and hints that Brian Eno has played on 15 tracks on the Roxy Music album in progress. • Virgin EMI release the DVD Roxy Music A Visual History. • Phil Manzanera & Andy Mackay are involved of a lot of the promotion for the DVD as Bryan Ferry is on tour in Australia. DECEMBER • The Dylanesque tour comes to an end in New Zealand.
