Yanick Etienne R.I.P.

I have just heard the sad news that Yanick Etienne "The voice of Avalon" has passed away.
Yanick sung the backing vocal on Roxy Music's Avalon creating a hauntingly beautiful close to the title track on their final album.
Yanick continued to work in the studio with Bryan Ferry on his albums Boys And Girl, Bete Noire & Mamouna. The Haitian born singer also toured with Bryan Ferry on his 1988 Bete Noire Tour.
The Roxy Music reunion tour in 2001 added Yanick to the line up after an appearance at the New York show where she remained with the tour until the closing show shown in the video below.
I am sure I speak for all Roxy Music fans in offering our condolences to her family and friends and all those who loved her.
