Jacob Quistgaard
Quist – aka Jacob Quistgaard – is an award-winning Danish guitarist and songwriter based in London
Quist started playing guitar at age 6 – moving to London in his teens to study at the then UK version of Musicians Institute (G.I.T), where he was awarded the title “Outstanding Guitarist of the Year” - after which he landed a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music. Having his recording debut for Sony Music Denmark whilst still studying, Quist has had more than 20 of his songs featured on Radio, TV, DVD releases, etc.
Quist is an increasingly active session guitarist, having appeared across the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and Russia at major festivals, in front of crowds of more than 30.000 people, working for labels like Decca, Polydor, Warner, Sony, Mercury, Universal, Ninja Tunes and Brownswood to name a few.
His first book (on Rock Guitar) was released worldwide in many languages by Parragon in 2011. Quist is also a regular contributor to Guitar Techniques Magazine.
Signing his youtube channel to Omnia Media in 2014, Quist is maintaining a steady output of music and 'Jam Tracks' for the increasingly popular and fast-growing QuistTV (over 5 million views) - as well as attending to ongoing session guitar duties for a host of UK and International artists & studios.
Quist is currently recording his instrumental album Trigger and will be releasing several videos of tracks from the album throughout 2014.
Quist will also be touring as lead guitarist with the legendary Bryan Ferry in 2014!
