This song was the comeback single after the first Roxy Music Hiatus. It peaked at number 40 in the UK charts with a completely different version of the song called Trash 2 used as the b-side.

The lyrics refer to Plaza-the famous Chelsea boutique of designer Antony Price who collaborated with Ferry on many iconic album covers.

Trash has been recorded by Pansy Division on their album Plie Up.
